Good Writing

What is writing - science or art? Seems to be a bit of both. Perhaps that's why it's so natural, yet so hard to master.

Just read this piece on writing with style. Thought I'd make a record of it as it sums it up quite nicely. Per #3, here's the summary:

  1. Find a subject you care about
  2. Do not ramble, though
  3. Keep it simple
  4. Have guts to cut
  5. Sound like yourself
  6. Say what you mean
  7. Pity the readers

And to wrap up with #5:

For those I may have wronged with my words, I come in peace 🖖! (very rough translation of a Turkish phrase said to audiences after a theater play - "Her ne kadar sürçülisan ettikse affola!")
